PME Essentials - Petal BasePetal Base by PME is a flavoured release agent to be used instead of vegetable fat or shortening for greasing cutters and work boards. It is made from a blend of vegetable oils and has a delicious vanilla aroma and flavour.
This product is perfect for using with intricately detailed cutters. For best results apply a little Petal Base to your work surface before rolling out sugarpaste, flower or modelling paste and rub a small amount into your cutter before using it and you will find that it will release cleanly and easily from your cutters and your work surface.

Or use a thin layer on a cupcake before you add your layer of fondant or marzipan. Out of stockThe FunCakes agar is a vegetable-based binding agent and a versatile product. It can be used as a replacement for gelatine, only agar has no animal-based ingredients. When you use agar as a substitute for gelatine, you need to slightly adjust your recipe. The powder dissolves in a boiling fluid ( water, milk or cream), after dissolving you can add it to the rest of your dish. The binding power of agar agar is 4-5 stronger than of gelatine. You can use approximately 8 grams of powder for 1 litre fluid. Agar solidifies at room temperature so your dish doesn’t need to set in the fridge and last from the fridge longer in warm weather. If you use agar agar in products based on milk than we advise to place it in the fridge. Agar agar loses its binding powder after approx. 2 days. Ingredients: thickener: E406. Out of stockXanthan gum is a gum that can be used as a thickener. You can also use this tasteless powder from FunCakes to make edible glue, gum paste and pastillage. Ingredients: xanthan gom (100%). The recipe for making edible glue: mix 1/4 teaspoon of gum powder with 4 tablespoons of water. It takes approximately 10-20 minutes to completely dissolve. You will then receive a clear, colorless adhesive. The recipe for making the pastillage: mix 1 teaspoon of gum powder with 100 grams of royal icing. Let it rest for about 1 hour before using it. The recipe for making the gum paste: take 5 grams of gum powder and 250 grams of fondant. Knead the gum powder through the fondant, let the mixture rest for 20-30 minutes before using it. Size: 50g
